I did it differently and it worked I connected it through the charger then I turned on my mobile data hotspot then I went onto the internet button on my laptop then clicked the one that was my phone and put in the pass then it worked

Yeah and it uses your phone data which some people don’t want apple is garbage Samsung lets you usb tether right to the WiFi network in your house not the phone cellular data
